Essex County Field Naturalists’ Club’s first photo contest was a success. The board and club members want to thank all of the participants. Everyone enjoyed your photos. It was very difficult to choose the winners. They were all great.
Congratulations to the winners:

This young fox kit was happy to pose for a few minutes before scurrying back into its den. This photo was taken May 19, 2020 in Kingsville, which definitely seems to have a higher amount of foxes reported than most places I see. Photo by Donny Moore
2nd place Adults: Michael Burkoski
This green heron was nice enough to pose and allow me to get fairly close. The photo was was taken on May 4, 2020 at the Essex sewage lagoons. I walk on the beautiful trails provided for us here 3in Essex almost every day and am constantly surprised by the beauty that nature provides. And I always bring my camera. Photo by Mike Burkoski
