It is with great pleasure to share that memorial trees have been planted in honour of past members Betty Learmouth and Jim McAllister.

This lovely tuliptree has been planted in honour of Betty Learmouth at Holiday Beach last week. An ideal spot for tuliptrees was carefully selected, where it was planted amongst the maples, where the soil is well drained (sandy loam) and where it will receive ample sunlight. This tree will also help diversify the canopy of this heavy maple area.

Last week, ERCA staff planted this beautiful Swamp White Oak memorial tree in memory of Mr. Jim McAllister out at Hillman Marsh Conservation Area.
ERCA staff commented “It is a thrill to see such a remarkable tree planted in this space out at Hillman. What a lovely and generous gesture from the Essex County Field Naturalists in memory of Mr. McAllister.”
